Breaking records, racing professionally and chatting with Forbes 30 Under 30 honourees — just another day for these under 21s
When we were teenagers, most of us were busy worrying about exams, organising video game playdates and figuring out what we wanted to be when we grew up. It’s not every day you come across a teenager who’s a violin prodigy, a racer before they’ve even gotten their driving licence, or an entrepreneur interviewing Shark Tank investors.
But these Singaporeans aged 21 and under are already breaking records, making history and building impressive careers of their own. Here are the young talents proving that you don’t have to wait until adulthood to do something extraordinary.
Danelle Tan, 21, footballer and top goal scorer
The 21-year-old Danelle Tan is the youngest and all-time top goal scorer for the Singapore women’s national team, making her the 5th youngest goal-scorer in the world at 14-years-old.

Danelle was also the first Singaporean to play in a European League when she made her debut for the UK’s London Bees, as well as the first Asian to play for Borussia Dortmund’s women’s team. At the age of 6, she already started to play football and scored 12 goals on her first day at the football academy. Now, the Singaporean footballer plays for Tokyo Verdy Beleza in Japan’s WE League.
